The Caulfield Rotary Club is a small, yet very active group of dedicated people making a world of difference in our local as well as national and international environs.
This not-for-profit organisation raises funds through innovative projects, community events, and the ever-trusted BBQ sausage sizzles.
Rotary Caulfield was established in February 1962. It is a member of the worldwide Rotary Organisation which seeks to provide local community services and assistance to humanitarian causes in developing countries.
Some examples of our projects and activities are as follows:
- Provide school playground facilities at primary schools in Caulfield and Carnegie, and Ormond Special School
- Monthly fundraising, Community Market at Caulfield Racecourse Reserve
- Youth photographic exhibition and competition at Glen Eira City Gallery
- Repair electric wheelchair for patient at Caulfield Hospital
- Caulfield Hospital – help load 75 Hospital beds into containers for shipping to Hospitals in Africa
- Sponsor formation of the Glen Eira Artists Society (GEAS)
- Recycle aluminum cans via recycling depot in Neerim Rd Glen Huntly
- Rotary youth exchange students from India, Finland, Canada, and USA. Rotary Members act as Host Parents
- Paint the exterior of two timber homes in Elsternwick for their elderly owners
- Sponsor GEAS annual art exhibition at Glen Eira City Gallery
- Fundraising sausage sizzle at Monash University Caulfield for VCE English Revision weekend
- Donations to Rotary Foundation for polio vaccinations in developing countries
- Provide a special modified bicycle for disabled Elsternwick student
- Sponsor Community Garden at Caulfield South Community House
- Sponsor new books for library at Caulfield South Primary School
- Rotary Youth Leadership Awards for students at Monash University Caulfield
- Fundraising sausage sizzle at Murrumbeena Primary School
- Provide wheelchairs for disabled young people
- Beekeeping project and importance of beekeeping for the environment
- Donations to Rotary Foundation for clean water and sanitation projects in developing countries
- Sponsor art murals at Murrumbeena Shopping Centre
- Print Directory of 15 Op Shops in City of Glen Eira
- Print Crisis Contact Cards with relevant phone numbers
- Sponsor Anthony Bresling Art Exhibition at Murrumbeena Community Garden (At Uniting Church)
- Sponsor GEAS “City Scape” in December, in local shopping centres
- December Festive season lunch and entertainment for Meals on Wheels clients
- Sponsor Alan Kogosowski Concert at St. John’s Elsternwick (Proceeds to Rotary Projects)
- Fundraising Sausage Sizzles at Woolworths (Prahran & Glen Huntly)
- Sponsor Concerts for Senior Citizens at Glen Eira Town Hall
- Caulfield Hospital – Donate Funds to purchase Stride Analyser
- Donations to “Rotary against Malaria,” Projects in Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste
- Donations to Australian Rotary Health (Cancer research projects)
- Support for ESRAG (Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group)
- Nominate local citizen for community service award
- Fundraising via progressive Dinner at three Rotary Members houses
